Tuna on Watermelon Radish

 

Bursting with freshness, this dish of watermelon radish and tuna salad has it all. We love that it is gluten free and keto friendly as well!

Like most salads, tuna and watermelon radish is embedded with loads of health benefits. Among other benefits, tuna helps improve our defenses. Thanks to its content of vitamins A and D, tuna consumption contributes to the development of the nervous system and potentiates the healing process.

Watermelon radish provides numerous vitamins, including vitamin C and vitamin A, as well as thiamin (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), and folic acid (B9). It contains a wide range of minerals as crucial as calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. In addition, it offers iron, sodium, zinc, selenium, copper, and manganese.

On the other hand, Avocado reduces bad cholesterol levels in the blood and increases good cholesterol. It also regulates blood sugar and helps prevent insulin resistance. For those with rheumatoid arthritis, it helps reduce inflammation of the joints. It nourishes the skin, nails, and hair due to its high content of vitamins C and E.

How to Make TUNA ON WATERMELON RADISH

For this recipe, I mix the red onion, mayo, canned tuna, pepper, and salt in a small bowl until well combined. Afterward, I slice my watermelon radish into thin slices and set aside.

Moving forward, I arranged the previously sliced watermelon radish on a plate and top with a tablespoon full of tuna salad.

Lastly, I garnish with a few slices of avocado, cilantro, sesame seeds and a fresh squeeze of lime - enjoy!

TUNA ON WATERMELON RADISH tips AND TRICKS

  • Chop your onion very finely: Because flavor is also textural, you do not want to throw in large chunks of onion in your tuna salad. Aside from the fact that roughly chopped onions are unsightly, they can also distract from the overall flavor of your tuna salad.

  • Add in more veggies: For an extra veggie boost, why not try some chopped bell peppers, or a dill pickle into the tuna salad?

TUNA ON WATERMELON RADISH

Delight your palate with this fresh and delicious tuna on watermelon radish salad that will be a perfect summer meal.

Ingredients

  • Salt

  • Cilantro

  • 1 can tuna

  • Lime wedges

  • Ground pepper

  • 2 tablespoon mayo 

  • 1/2 avocado sliced

  • 2 tablespoons red onion, diced

  • 1 watermelon radish thinly sliced

  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Mix tuna, salt, red onion, mayo, and pepper until combined.

  • Arrange sliced watermelon radish on a plate in a single layer

  • Top a big spoonful of the tuna salad on the radish

  • Garnish with avocado, sesame seeds, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime

  • Enjoy!
